Meet Along the New River

The U.S. 221 Access features a large community building available for gatherings and events, providing a practical space for meetings, presentations, workshops, and group activities. At the Elk Shoals Access in West Jefferson, the Chapel on the New offers another unique meeting and event space along the river. Event organizers can work with park staff to determine the appropriate facilities, permits, and requirements for their gathering.

When the meeting is over, your team can take advantage of the park's many recreational opportunities. Paddle the New River by canoe or kayak, cast a line while fishing, explore scenic hiking trails, enjoy a picnic along the water, or simply spend time together taking in the natural surroundings.
